ABOUT

Formed in 2016, Sons of Skaro are a group of Dalek builders, owners and enthusiasts. We decided that we would put our Daleks together to form a Charity Fund Raising Group and so was born Sons of Skaro.

Since 2016 we have attended close to 100 events raising money for charity. In 2017 we raised amost £3k for Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance by raffling a full size Dalek. 2018/19 we are raising funds for GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity) by again Raffling off another full size Dalek.

We also run a tombola at events to raise further funds. In 2019 we are hosting our own event, details of which can be found on this site.

The Sons of Skaro Members:

Robert Phillips – Builder/Renovator

Owner and Operator of Dalek Jast

Rob lives in Grimsby where he has built or refurbished several of the Sons of Skaro. Working from his garage at home Rob has created some of the most stunning of props including Daleks Jast, DD, Muto & Lyndon.

Rob was the first person to test out Martmod voice modulators and has helped their creator enhance their performance over the past few years. Rob can be found trundling Dalek Jast at our events.

Tom Connor – Classic Dalek Renovator

Owner & Operator of Dalek Dave Mk 3

Tom lives in Chesterfield and has been operating Daleks since 2006 when he acquired his 1st Dalek. Although he didn’t perform at any events as a Dalek operator until 2009, he has proven to be a very adept and competent Dalek operator, showcasing impeccable manoeuvring capabilities, accurate and witty delivery of Dalek dialogue and staying true to the character/nature of the Daleks.

His Dalek, Dave Mk3, is fitted with a MartMod voice modulator, motorised base, water weapon and has custom machined and 3D printed components, such as his fully operational aluminium claw and 3D printed iris housing in his eyestalk lens.

Robert Cowley – Events & Logistics Co-ordinator

Owner & Operator of Dalek Skaros

Robert lives in Gloucestershire and has been a Doctor Who / Dalek fan since 1963. Working from home Robert is responsible for where The Sons of Skaro are & when.

It’s Robert’s job to get us all in the same place at the same time, no mean feat (it’s like herding cats)!! He is a walking diary!

He makes sure we all know where we are going, where we are staying, where we are parking and most importantly when. Along with Dean, Robert is the Organiser of The Gathering.

Ben May – Dalek Builder/Operator and Propmaker

Owner & Operator of Dalek Ray and Dalek Syd

Ben is a student and as well as building two Daleks (Ray & Syd), which are both foot powered, is also a keen propmaker, and hoping to make a successful career in the industry. If he isn’t inside a Dalek pedalling like billy-o, then he can usually be found sporting a little silver number.

Daniel Cadwallader- Jones

Dalek Operator

Daniel lives in Llandrindod Wells. An avid cosplayer Daniel jumped at the chance to become an operator with Sons of Skaro.

He has operated Daleks at several events including Collectormania at Birmingham NEC.

He is also a keen railway enthusiast and can often be found volunteering at Llangollen Railway.

Dean Stoner – Events & Merchandise Co-ordinator

Owner & Operator of AD, DD, Fury, Rage, Nemo, Dacien, Ignatius, Lyndon, Darwin, Muto, Davros

Dean lives in Arundel. Jostling his own business & life as an alien, Dean along with Robert Cowley attends the majority of events that the Sons of Skaro are booked for.

Dean has supplied the Daleks for the charity raffles and tries to source affordable merchandise for the group to sell for the charity.

Dean also sorts out the production of the groups T Shirts and Banners as well as being the Organiser of The Gathering alongside Robert Cowley.

Gaynor Cowley – Minder & Events Assistant

Gaynor is one of the groups Dalek Minders.

She can often be seen alongside Skaros dressed as Osgood clearing the pathway for the supreme beings.

She also assists in manning the Tombola and setting up the events merchandise.

Adrian Goff

Long suffering partner of Dean, Adrian has now undergone complete Robo-man conversion and assists with the setting up and running of the events merchandise/tombola table.

He also does much of the driving to and from events with anything up to 10 Daleks in tow!

Scott Goodman

In the words of John Levene, The closest thing to the 3rd Doctor you will ever meet!!

Scott has joined Sons of Skaro with his Dalek Russell to host ‘An Audience With The Daleks’ at events.

Sometimes we need human assistance and Scott is there to provide it… You wont miss him….he’s the one towering above everyone else looking & acting like Jon Pertwee.
